Economic Analysis of the Effect of Social Capital on Food Security Status of Micro-Credit Households in Ekiti State Nigeria

This study examined the effects of social capital on food security status microcredit households in Ekiti-state, Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling procedure was used selecting sample for study. The data were collected by using a well-structured questionnaire from three hundred and eighty-six Ekiti-state. analysed descriptive, Foster, Greer Thorbecke measure probit regression model. result showed that average age sampled heads 47.3years. Average years formal education size area about 6.8 7 persons respectively. results dimensions membership density index 37.25% while decision making participation 61.44%. Heterogeneity meeting attendance indices 52.89% 45.02% Cash labour 40.42% 21.18% mean value 12.10%. age, squared, household size, occupation, education, density, participation, heterogeneity significantly influenced security. use instrumental variables led to an increase adjusted 0.3760 0.3996 relative real index. It is recommended policy will make (particularly insecure ones) participate associations should be formulated.
